There’s something to be said for a wine bar that has decided that it will only serve Bordeaux wine. Unfortunately, when half your party insists that it’s too hot for a red this decision effectively reduces their expansive list down to just a handful of whites.

While our choice of white was pretty good, I am sure we would be far better rewarded if they had air conditioning or by returning on a cooler day when a heavy red wouldn’t sound like an imposition.

L’Ecluse is actually a small chain of wine bars throughout Paris. This was the first time I’d been to this location, but the other ones have been just as nice. In the past, when drinking red, I have been served finely sliced sausage as an accompaniment. Today, however, we were given deliciously fresh baby radishes that went very well with the wine.

A nice little place that isn’t that cheap, but hard to top if you’re looking for a nice Bordeaux.
