I have a friend that particularly likes this pub and as a testament to his impressive skills in persuasion and schmoozing, you can frequently find my coworkers here. He had taken me once before, promising a fantastic hamburger. I was not impressed.
Fast forward a month or two and I was in the neighborhood, needed a bar and people were hungry, so we ended up here again. I was craving a burger so against my better judgment decided to give it another shot. I shouldn’t have bothered.
While the bun was impressively dry, it had nothing on the burger. The meat was suspiciously well formed, reminiscent of a frozen patty. While I did like the pickles, the cheese had all the character of a Kraft single. Then there were the fries. Hands down the most pathetically limp and pitiful fried potatoes I’ve ever been served in Paris. There’s been a lot of press recently about where to get a good burger in Paris, and this clearly is not one of them.
The food aside, this isn’t a bad place. If I lived near to it, I wouldn’t rule it out as a place to frequent. Just don’t get the burger.
