There’s no such thing as a good cheap steak. I should have incanted this truism before I ordered an entrecote off a 22€ three course prix-fixe menu.

This particular bar was recommended by a certain member of our Velib entourage, and it was a nice ending point for the evening. The theme of the décor is “red and dim,” the comfortable plush seating addressing the former and the classy ensconced lighting the latter.

I don’t know how we managed it, but we did. We found what may very well be the only bar in Paris that does not serve wine by the bottle. Not that we didn’t try. And by “we,” I mean Christian.
